Diction

Diction is a language analysis software program that searches a text passage for occurences of tokens belonging to five general categories (certainty, activity, optimism, realism, commonality). Normative data for all qualities are provided. For specific research purposes it is possible to use custom dictionaries.

A free trial version is available, as is a manual and an overview of recent research.

Diction was developed by Professor Roderick P. Hart, University of Texas at Austin.
